Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance, demonstrate proficiency in various mechanical tasks, and take pride in doing quality work. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and improvement of residential apartment units and common areas. You will work directly with the property management team to address maintenance requests, perform routine inspections and repairs, and respond to emergency issues.
Duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance requests (e.g., water leaks, HVAC outages, lockouts, etc.).
Conduct regular inspections of apartments and common areas.
Accurately report and track maintenance issues and completed work.
Conduct inspections of facilities to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Prepare units for new occupancy (turnovers).
Execute residential painting tasks to maintain the aesthetic quality of facilities.
Maintain a clean and safe environment on property grounds.
Coordinate with vendors as needed for specialized repairs.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and procedures.
Basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC systems and curiosity to learn
Familiarity with CMMS software for efficient management of maintenance activities.
Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems.
Experience in residential painting is a plus, contributing to overall facility upkeep.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
